Spoonie Guide to Portopiccolo

Peter and I love finishing every vacation with a spa day. And boy the Portopiccolo spa incredible. Even if you can’t book a treatment I think spending the money just to use the amenities is worth it.

Portopiccolo was by far the most accessible town we visited. Everything is very new so, there are ramps and elevators. You could definitely visit in a wheelchair and not have many problems.

The beach is a pebble beach which is very difficult to walk on. If you are unstable on your feet this might be best avoided. Especially when you try to get in the water the pebbles really slip around.

The Falisia hotel has a small spa. There was a steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi. There was no one there. So if you want to relax alone this is the spot.

The Portopiccolo spa was incredible. We had a gorgeous room for our massage. The pool, saunas, and steam rooms were really beautiful and clean. You could spend an entire day there. I particularly liked the salt pool. It was nice and dark, the water was warm but not too warm.

There are no lifts into the pools at the beach club or the spa. The spa does have a very nice railing that goes all the way down. They also have a wheelchair lift for between the levels. The pool had an elevator up to the beach club and then a ramp along the side to each level.

Of all the places that I visited this trip I would come back to Portopiccolo. It is a fabulous and relaxing way to end a vacation.
